How does it work when you have both?

Bow Armor retains 20 nav points when you hit a reef while each Helmsmen lets you retain 3 nav points for each one you have.

For example, say you have 100 NAV points when you hit a reef and you have both Bow Armor and 7 Helmsmen. Do you retain 20 NAV via the Bow Armor or 21 NAV via the 7 Helmsmen?

This is a general question on the game mechanics between the Bow Armor and the Helmsmen and what occurs if you happen to have both.

ONLY BOW ARMOR: Say you have 100 NAV points and hit a reef. The Bow Armor should save 20% NAV points and leave you with 20 NAV points remaining.

HAVE ONLY 7 HELMSMAN IN CREW: Say you have 100 NAV points and hit a reef. Each Helmsman retains 3 NAV points, so you should have 21 NAV points remaining.


HAVE BOTH BOW ARMOR AND 7 HELMSMAN IN CREW: If you have 100 NAV points and hit a reef here, what happens? Does it only use the bow armor and leave you with 20 NAV? Does it only use the helmsmen and leave you with 21 NAV? Does it take whichever is higher? Does it combine them and leave you with 41 NAV?

I had expressed the same question to my fleet last week and was coming here to post about it as well...

I have both... I am only keeping as much Nav as I have helmsmen...

I would think you would get credit for both...as they are two separate things...for example: your helmsmen do not loose their skills because you suddenly have special armor on your ship...

Not sure if designed that way or a glitch...

I will look into it. They most likely don't stack, but I can investigate whether it's possible.
